For generations western scholars and western education have tried to fit aboriginal peoples and cultures into their pre-conceived notions of what constitutes the cultural/historical model. On this web site we will focus on the Three Fires Confederacy through an aboriginal perspective. Hopefully, we will rid some of the t.v. stereotyping that was instilled in the average persons mind. For instance, we all heard the story of how Columbus discovered America. It is now a known fact that the
Norse made their appearance in North America around the 8th century, long before Columbus came on the scene. I use Columbus and the Norse just to point out that European history is not always correct. Our history was not a written history, but rather an oral history, a history that has been passed down from generation to generation through myths and legends.
